Brenna Hanratty’s Maple Buttermilk Pancake Cupcakes

My cupcake is a Maple Buttermilk Pancake Cupcake. I decided to make this cupcake because it reminds me of when my dad always used to make pancakes for us on fall mornings. I wanted to do something that I loved about the fall and decided this is a huge part of how I see fall so homey and warm. I made this recipe myself and it was super yummy and brought all of the warm cozy fall memories back to the kitchen! Hope you have a warm fall and make some pancakes for those chilly Sunday mornings!

Alli Arndt’s Nutella Fluffernutter Cupcakes

My inspiration came from combining my favorite flavors into one cupcake. Growing up I have always loved a classic fluffernutter sandwich. The peanut butter and marshmallow flavors blended perfectly. It was the highlight of my elementary school lunches.

I wanted to recreate this classic combo with a twist by adding the only spread tastier than peanut butter: Nutella. My favorite aspect of this cupcake is the Nutella fluff filling. It soaks into the cake and disperses the Nutella flavor throughout. I am looking forward to sharing these cupcakes with many people when quarantine is over.

Tabitha Gray’s Rooster Cupcakes

My cupcake is a lemon pop cake with lemon frosting decorated with a rooster head and feathers made of fondant and food coloring. I also added little fondant eggs on the back. I tried to arrange them in the shape of a rooster. My mom helped me by making the rooster head.

I met Twister when we rescued him from another farm where he didn’t fit in. When I first saw him I thought, “Wow, he’s huge, now which one are we taking home”? I was surprised when it was him. The entire way home he was clucking and making noises. At first the hens did not accept him and he kept having to go in solitaire. Eventually they worked out the pecking order.

A couple weeks ago, I heard a bird scream and saw all the birds were there except my rooster. I went into the woods and saw a fox run away.  Then I saw Twister.  He made a noise and I scooped him up. We didn’t think he’d make it through the night but now he’s walking again.  He’s still slowly getting better.
